As of January 1, 2005 there were 23 clubs in the region, 17 libraries, one school of arts and one museum of history and geography. Some 33 monuments in the region have the status of historic and cultural values. The most important of them are the City Hall – a monument of the 18th century architecture, the Church of Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ – a monument of the 18th century architecture, an earl’s palace – a monument of the 18th century architecture, a communal grave of the Soviet soldiers on the Zamkavaya hill, a grave of the victims of fascism along the motorway to Grodno from both the sides of the Chechersk gateway, communal graves of the Soviet soldiers (the villages of Iskra, Korablische, Motnevichi, Shilovich), communal graves of the Soviet soldiers and partisans (the villages of Pokot and Kholochye), the graves of the victims of fascism (the villages of Babichi, Budische, Dobryn, Repische), monuments to the countrymen who fell during the Great nPatriotic War (the villages of Dudichi, Krutoye, Otor, Polesye, Kholochye, Shylovichi) monuments to partisans (the villages of Nisimkovichi and Yamitskiy).

In 2004 the central regional library opened a public legal information center.
