President: Belarus will not deviate from century-long course in its relations with Russia

The conflict situation which has occurred in Belarusian-Russian relations has nothing to do with Russian people, president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said today during a meeting with Gennadiy Zyuganov, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. “Here, Belarus will not deviate from its century-long course, especially during the term of my presidency. We have always been and we will always be with the Russian people. If you want to call us the outpost of Russia in the west, you may call us like that; we have never denied that. Yet that is also worth something,” the Belarusian president said. The head of state called it idle talk that “Lukashenko is flirting with the West”. “I am not flirting with anyone. I just propose: go on and destroy that stone wall, something you always nblamed the Soviet Union for, and let us negotiate,” the Belarusian leader added. Смотреть все
